The heavy equipment moves in as Team Shelley commences the remediation works at Wakefield Park. Hopes of reopening the track before December are high.

Steve Shelley, Owner of Pheasant Wood Circuit, announced the acquisition of Wakefield Park from Benalla Auto Club. The circuit was closed on 1st September 2022 after a long-running battle with noise restrictions. Steve Shelley is working closely with Goulburn Council and the community to ensure all the boxes are ticked as he navigates to secure the future of Wakefield Park Raceway. Recently on social media, Sheely wrote,” Recognising the vital role Wakefield Park plays in the motorsport and local Goulburn Mulwaree community we made the decision to invest in its future, guided by our shared love for the sport.”
“While there is work ahead of us, we are eagerly looking forward to commencing the necessary repairs and renovations, with the goal of reopening the circuit on a limited scale later this year.”
